Compulsory digital marking of six categories of goods is introduced in Russia from September 1

From September 1, Russia will start labeling medical devices, dietary supplements, antiseptics, wheelchairs, water for children, soft drinks and juices. Information about the innovation is published on the official Internet portal of legal information (http://publication.pravo.gov.ru/document/0001202306010025?index=1).
Ekaterina Priezzheva, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, commented on the introduction of mandatory labeling of six categories of goods: “The Government of the Russian Federation decided to start labeling six new product groups from September 1 at once. All technologies in the new categories have been repeatedly tested in the course of experiments or in the course of work with other product groups. In particular, juices and sweet drinks are produced in the same types of packaging as water, beer, milk, where the labeling is already in effect. There is also enough equipment and necessary consumables on the market for all product groups.”

The digital labeling system based on the Chestny Znak operator will be ready by the beginning of autumn and will take place in stages: manufacturers will start labeling medical products, dietary supplements, antiseptics, wheelchairs, water for children as early as October 1, 2023, and soft drinks on December 1.
